I don’t know about you, but I have heard this once or twice.

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

It really doesn’t matter.

It’s all out of your control.

Yes…I know this.

You know this.

Why does this still affect us when we know that it is just small stuff?

But what do we do to help us not sweat the small stuff?

What can we do right now to get over it or feel better?

First thing I do is ask myself if this is out of my control.

If it is, I must tackle it differently.

I take into account who and what I am dealing with.

Is this situation something that will last longer than I want it to, and what can I do right now to get through it?

You can’t possibly understand why someone is doing something.

Why they are saying the things that they are saying.

You are not them.

You are not inside their mind.

What you can do is control your reaction and how to relieve your stress.

Here are a few tips.

  1. Write down how you are feeling. This could be in the form of a list, or just writing down what happened.

How do you do this?  Grab any notebook, pen, and just start writing how you feel.

  1. Have pen and paper handy (or markers) and draw. Simply draw a circle, doodle, or whatever you want to draw.  This is helpful as you are doing this you are concentrating on other things.  You can also color and use this method to purge some more.  Whatever comes up on while you are coloring, you write it down.

These tips have helped me immensely and have zero dollars.  These are tools that you can carry with you and just do them as things come up.

Please remember to do something daily to relieve your stress.

Place yourself on top of the list.
