Wellness Wednesday.

This week I am talking about laughing, the benefits of it and how to make it happen more often.

When was the last time you laughed? I mean really, really laughed.

Study after study, say that laughter is the best medicine.

Laughing is good for you and it helps you relieve stress.

As First Responders, we deal with a lot of stress, all day long.

It’s easy to forget to take care of ourselves, because we are too busy taking care of everyone else.

Laughter is according to helpguide.org, a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict.

Laughter brings your body and mind back into balance.

It lightens up whatever situation may be occurring in your life and it helps release anger.

Laughter is good for your health.

It relaxes your whole body.

It boosts your immune system and it  triggers the release of endorphins.  Endorphins are

Your body’s natural feel good chemicals.

What are you waiting for?

Get those laughs in.

Watch a funny movie.

Go see a comedy show.

One of my favorite YouTube videos, https://youtu.be/o1Rzw-hV7Ng,  is about laughing to get fit.

It is funny to watch, but it will help you burn calories.

Laughter has many benefits and lowering your stress hormones is what it’s all about and there are some great tips on how to develop your sense of humor in the link below.
