Squeezing your way through STRESS.

If you told me years ago, I would be talking about how to relieve stress I may have fallen over with my very LOUD laugh. WELL, here I am today, talking to you about stress and the tools that I use.  I recently recorded a HOW-to video https://youtu.be/GYFLCUtG2ps, on how I use a squeeze stress ball to pair with my breath to help me release stress.  YES, it how I do it.  I did not think it would bring me so much relief, but it did.  I also love what I have learned from Dr. Belisa Vranich’s course, BREATHE https://amzn.to/3uJG36B.

How we breathe has a lot to do with how we feel, and we can release stress with the breath.  How do I know that?  Because I did it.  I was anxious, I felt terrible, and I decided to do something about it. I decided to search for a way to feel better, and I found it.  I did do other things as well, but that is for a later blog post.

I learned something along the way as a First Responder.  We tend to hold on to things because we are the people everyone relies on. We are the problem solvers, we are the ones that help people, so the lingering question is, “Why do I need help?’  I figure things out.  WHY?  Because you deserve to be supported, and you deserve to feel good too.  Nothing says that you must hold on to these things and keep them.  Releasing them is key.  As always, I remind you that if you need to speak to someone for support, DO it.  There is no shame in asking for support and asking someone to be there for you.  Don’t do it alone.
